What are the best luxury Bahamas Cruises?

We want to take such a cruise with a friend (two singles) between March 1st and 10th. We are looking at a four day cruise maximum, departing from Miami.

Tim answers:

Why not an island?

Has anyone been to charleston south carolina?

I am going to charleston south carolina next month, and I want to know (besides the beach) what activities are there to do? My nephew’s baseball team is playing in a little league world series and I am not planning on going to all the games.

Thank you for all of your responses.

Tim answers:

I live here in Beautiful Charleston! What exactly are you interested in…there is alot of historical sites to see. I would suggest touring downtown and the the Battery, walking waterfront park. Near waterfronf park you can see the aquarium and take a ferry boat to fort sumter where the first shots of the civil war rang out. E-mail me if you have any questions! Have a great time!

One of the cheApest Caribbean islands is Dominican Republic and that is because of the exchange rate. Another one is Jamaica and Trinidad because you can get more for your dollar. Trinidad is 6 to $US.

George asks…

question about single occupancy on cruises?

i used to go on carnival cruises all the time, i like to have my own room and since it was only a little above double occupancy i was happy. but now carnival has changed their policy and a single occupancy has to pay double- are all cruise lines like that? thanks!!

Tim answers:

It is the norm on nearly all cruise lines to charge a single traveller, (175%) nearly double for a cabin.
There are still some lines that have single cabins on their older ships, but as the principle of cruise ship design now is to maximise the number of passengers in the cabin (all prices are based on a minimum of two in a cabin) I am afraid the days of a 20% – 25% markup for single occupancy are gone forever.
It’s understandable, I suppose, as it costs the same to clean and maintain a cabin for one as it does for two people, while the income generated on board, is halved.

I want to go on a carnival cruise! I’m single and 22 yrs old!?

The destination will be to BAJA MEXICO! Should i book it now or wait the last minute?
I have never been on the cruise before! Is there some possibilities to meet single girls around my age? My friends can’t make it so i decided to go alone and get a breath of fresh hair!

i havent booked it yet. i will by the end of this week for sure! but i’m trying to gather information to make the best choices!
also since im single, will i have to pay for 2 persons? The carnival website says the price is 269, so i’m thinking 600$ to book it…
what? That’s even better ROY! ah ah ah ah! That’s tight mann!

Tim answers:

I dont think its a good idea. Its gonna be pretty hot out there and you might see girls half naked on the cruise. Dont go.

Chris asks…

Any other single gals are going on a cruise on Carnival Inspiration on July 3, 2010?

Just want to get together and party, especially on the 4th of July…. also, is there anyone who has been on this ship after the cruise line refurbished it? Just want to know what to expect.

Tim answers:

Try cruisecritic.com There you can join up(it’s free) and then go to boards, then Carnival, then the Inspiration, and finally to the sailing date. There you will always find many others that are going on your cruise. They usually have a get together on the ship. You can chat with a whole bunch of fellow cruisers. This is the most popular web site for everything cruising. It is not a bunch of critics complaining, but just a very helpful cruise site.

Susan asks…

Which cruise line is better for a single man in his late 20s, Royal Caribbean or Carnival?

I am planning on taking a vacation/holiday in late December. I have never been on a cruise before and am considering one of two cruises. One is on Royal Caribbean’s Liberty of the Seas(a Freedom class vessel) and the other is on Carnival‘s Triumph(a Triumph class vessel). As stated before I am single and in my late 20s, so I am looking at singles cruises. Any information you can give on the cruise lines and these ships in particular would be most helpful in making my decision, and would be greatly appreciated.
Just to be clear, this is a WINTER cruise, and I am also looking at activities for my downtime and also general age groups. I kinda am looking for the possibility of meeting a woman 18-36, though my primary reason is as a de-stresser and I want to make sure I have a group of people, or maybe just one person, to hang out with. That is why I chose a singles cruise instead of booking through the cruise line itself(which would have been less expensive but also less enjoyable).

Tim answers:

I’m 31 years old myself and prefer Carnival over Royal Caribbean when it comes to women. Honestly though there isn’t a huge difference I just think the Carnival ships tend to party a bit later and has cheaper drinks. When you combine those two good things are bound to happen.
